Spinone Italiano

This dog is sometimes confused with the Spinone Italiano.

Breeders of the Spinone Italiano, finally admitted by the A.K.C. in 2000, trace their breed to a fifth-century-B.C. description of a bristly haired pointer with good endurance.

The Italian Spinone Club of America is also requesting all breeders and owners to submit samples for testing; the club reported 150 Spinone Italiano dogs have tested positive in the United States.
