Another happy surprise was the salad growing inside my cold frame.

There was a serving table for later, set over the cold frames along the garden's east wall.

And think about building a cold frame, if you don't have one.

I have yet to use a cold frame year-round, but I'm getting there.

If a cold frame is available, start them there.

Seedlings are moved to a series of cold frames in the next few months.

But if you don't have a cold frame, you're not a bad person.

Protect in a shaded cold frame or similar over winter.

And if the cold frame is exposed to the sun, be sure to check it more frequently.
