Doctors who were called to see him attributed them to myopericarditis, the diagnosis written in the chart.

Myopericarditis is a combination of both myocarditis and pericarditis appearing in a single individual.

More severe presentations do occur, particularly in children. Presentations include exanthems (including HFMD), herpangina, conjunctivitis, encephalitis, aseptic meningitis, acute flaccid paralysis, acute respiratory problem and myopericarditis.
