Sugar Hill was the place to go, the place to be, in Harlem.

But anyone planning to rent or buy in the neighborhood should consider more than real estate values, the people who live on Sugar Hill say.

"There have been many definitions of Sugar Hill over the years," he said.

The group and the record company are named after the Sugar Hill, Manhattan neighborhood.

"This area was what you call Sugar Hill," he said.
